These are the wonderful folks sent here to help us build our new home. Please get to know them and welcome them – if you already haven’t.
Bob and Judy Miller
Hometown: Granbury, TX
Background: Bob is a retired commercial airline pilot with previous USAF duty. Since retirement, he has become a catastrophic insurance adjuster, and was a CFO for a healthcare company utilizing his MBA. Judy is a retired Xray Technologist who was a science teacher before having children.
Family: We have two beautiful married daughters and five terrific grandchildren ages 3 to 14. They all live less than an hour away from us in the Fort Worth area.
Laborers for Christ: This is Bob’s third project, having joined in 2012, and he is proud to serve as the Project Manager. He also worked with the LFC on the two projects in our home church, Our Savior. We look forward to several more years of service as LFC members.
Phil and Rose Schafer
Hometown: The Schafers are full time RVers.
Background: Phil is a retired fireman from the Chicago area with 27 years of service with previous duty in the USN. Rose was a full time homemaker who worked part time in retail, fast food and child care after the kids were in school. We sold our home in 2005 and have been roaming the country ever since.
Family: We have three children and ten grandchildren ages 5 to 21.
Laborers for Christ: This is Phil’s fourth project, having joined in 2012, and serves as the Assistant Project Manager.
John and Nancy Brune
Hometown: Eden, ID
Background: John retired from the farming business after previous duty with the USMC. He is active in remodeling and carpentry. Nancy keeps very busy at home and is very active in their church.
Family: We have four children and 7.5 grandchildren. Three of our children are teachers, probably because of the 20 years John spent on the school board.
Laborers for Christ: This is John’s first project and we are fortunate to have him.
John and Rhonda Johnson
Hometown: Pocatello, ID
Background: A man of many talents, John works with Habitat for Humanity and at their local church. Rhonda is a retired City Clerk and Assistant Risk Manager for Pocatello. She stays busy with LWML, serving currently as Zone President.
Laborers for Christ: This is John’s ninth project, having joined in 2002.
Bill and Lori Nardini
Hometown: Tehachapi, CA
Background: Bill retired from the California Gas Company after 35 years with previous duty in the USA. Lori retired from the Tehachapi News after 23.5 years. She worked previously as a photo processor, grocery clerk, and part time secretary at an animal farm.
Family: Between us, we have six children and ten grandchildren from Iowa, California, Colorado and Nevada.
Laborers for Christ: This is Bill’s seventh project, having joined in 2009.
